2. Data Collection and Storage

Local Storage: BabyCheck is designed with privacy in mind. Your personal scan history, favorites, and preferences are stored locally on your device. We do not store this personal data on our servers.

3. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to improve our application and provide essential features:

  • Analytics (Mixpanel): We use Mixpanel to understand how users interact with our app to improve the user experience. This data is anonymized.
  • Crash Reporting (Firebase Crashlytics): We use Google Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and fix technical issues.
  • Product Data (OpenFoodFacts): When you scan a barcode, we query the OpenFoodFacts database to retrieve product information.
  • AI Analysis (Google Gemini & OpenAI): Product data is sent to these AI providers to generate safety analysis. No personal user data is shared with them.
  • Payments (RevenueCat): We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases. Payment processing is handled directly by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store).

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data. However, please note that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

5. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data. Since most data is stored locally on your device, you can manage it directly within the app (e.g., clearing history).
